Smaller rims with big volume tyres give a similar overall diameter to the more usual c road wheels, but comfort and grip are massively improved. The larger 47mm wide tyres running tubeless as low as 35 psi float over road imperfections and rough tracks with no weight penalty over the larger c wheels and smaller tyres.
In response to customer feedback with 1x drivetrain options leaving redundent cable stops on the previous Escapade, the new bike offer multiple cable management solutions, including semi-internal routing for gear cables and optional internal routing for a dropper post.

Geek away my friend! Cotic frames are designed, developed, engineered and tested entirely by us at our base in the Peak District, near Sheffield in the UK. Our founder - Cy Turner - is the lead designer and engineer, and our frames are rigorously ride tested by everyone at Cotic, and our Race Team. They are fully certified and lab tested in excess of the requirements of ISO safety standards. This frame is hand made in Taiwan by our specially selected framebuilder, chosen because of their vast experience with our favourite materials, and their top quality finish.
They are the best in Taiwan for what we need. Each frame is dip coated inside and out with zinc phosphate before painting, to prevent corrosion and ensure the best paint finish. After we've agonised over the colours, designs and decals the frames are painted to the highest quality including a protective clear coat, before extensive QC by our agent in Taiwan.
Once the frames reach us in the UK, we carry out further QC, and prep the frames for headset and bottom bracket installation. As always, all complete bikes are built to order by us here in the Peak District, to the exact spec of your choice. We build your bike for you. Seatpost clamp: Front Mech: Offset 45mm.

To do this we allow these bodies to place a cookie on your machine and track your progress. The seat angle is a lick steeper on the BFeMAX, which helps to centralise you between the two wheels for a more efficient climbing position. I also like that Cotic has kept the seat tube really short.
With the saddle crushed, the low-slung frame gives you a tonne of space to move around within. The mm fork does prop the front end up quite a lot, which I suspect will feel fantastic for steeper alpine riding. On less gravity-themed trails closer to home, I would like it a little lower. The new DebonAir spring is really effective at sitting high in the travel though, so it means the bars are still jacked up pretty high on the climbs.
Complete weight is a healthy Dropping the fork travel will improve the seated position further. The wheelbase is absolutely huge on this bike, and it really keeps the whole thing calm when bouncing down the trail.
