If you're not still lucky enough to have your registration number Google is your friend. That's all I'll say. Telemate v4. I've included the latest versions below at the time of this writing.

Make sure you've downloaded and saved: 1. A copy of Telemate v4. Being familiar with "the next step" before it's time will help greatly. I'm not going to go indepth on the installation of exactly how to install programs and such. That being said, it's very easy to setup if you can follow directions Go to where ever you saved the install file, and double click DOSBox.

Run DOSBox once and close it, this creates the blank config file. Once it's closed you need to configure two things. Preferences Remember,. The version I'm hosting here is 0. You can search for "serial" to find it. Leave everything else in that section alone. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the config file until you see this you can search for "autoexec" to find it : [autoexec] Lines in this section will be run at startup.

Depending on your OS, you need to create a folder on your drive AND put one of the following lines here. The next step is to uncompress the Telemate version you downlaoded into your "dos" folder that you created in the previous step. Best thing to do is create a folder called "TM" in the "dos" folder, and put the Telemate files in there.

Once you've done that it's time to launch DOSBox. If everything was done correctly you should get something that looks like this: Now, switch to the C drive and change to the TM directory: Then type TM and hit enter, the first time you launch it you will get a "setup" screen.

The only thing you should change is go to COM Parameter and change Baud Rate to unless you're feeling nostalgic and want it to be slower! Here's a screenshot of the seutp screen. If you see the phonebook screen, just hit "ESC" to get to the terminal window. The most important thing here is that you see "OK" repsonses after the "AT" commands issued to the "modem. In fact, if you're getting responses at all, it means DOSBox is doing it's job and you're well on your way to doing some good old fashioned BBS'ing.
