Well, first of all I have a bit of good news; once you buy the Anniversary Edition upgrade, you have to actually download the CC content. There's an "Install All" button, which is a time-saver, but the really good part at least for me is, you can install each item manually. Which means, you can pick and choose only what you want to install, or which ones will work best with your playthrough. True, if something ends up not working for you, or if something conflicts with a must-have mod, you have to delete everything and start from scratch, but at least it's not an "all-or-nothing" situation.
